It’s Sunday evening and we have arrived safely in Orlando thanks to our three Top Gun pilots.
There was a huge amount of excitement and anticipation at breakfast this morning – what a treat having our food served by police officers! With no time to hang around, we boarded the buses, ready for our police escort to the hangar. Bart Simpson was on the back of one police bike and Fred Flintstone on another, traffic was stopped and everyone waved as we passed by.
We had a fantastic party at the hangar and then the band of the Royal Welsh Regiment and Shenkin the goat marched each group to the aircraft. With so many VIP’s on board, the control tower gave us extra special treatment and we were allowed to queue jump the many other aircraft that were waiting for our runway!!
Our silly pilots forgot to load enough fuel to get us across the Atlantic, (they probably weren’t expecting our luggage to weigh so much)…so they really appreciated the help that they had from all passengers on board, who flapped their arms in order to help get the Boeing 747 off the ground.
The flight was LOADS of fun, the cabin crew sprayed us with silly string before we had even taken off.
When we landed in Orlando, we were met by our wonderful American helpers. Our big yellow buses were then given a fantastic police escort to our hotel. We have all settled in well and are looking forward to meeting Mickey Mouse tomorrow.
