On September 18th 2011 Pooh Bear senior nurse, Sarah Prudhoe, took to the streets of the North East to complete the world's biggest half marathon, the Great North Run, and raise money for Dreamflight.
"I have never been a runner (or indeed really done any form of exercise) before first taking part in the Great North Run in 2010. Running is not easy for a non-runner, but I stuck to my training schedules and worked hard."
Sarah joined the other 54,000 runners to complete the 13.1 mile course in a fantastic two and a half hours.
"Taking part in the Great North Run is a fantastic experience, the other runners and the crowd really spur you on when you are beginning to tire, the atmosphere is amazing. There is a real sense of achievement when it is almost over and you are running along the seafront at South Shields."
With the generous sponsorship of her friends and colleagues, Sarah raised a brilliant £1,128. Well done Sarah and thank you for your support. There is still time to sponsor Sarah, please visit http://www.justgiving.com/sarah-poohbear.
